Slave To The Lender

Lesa and I have had a joint checking account at Washington Mutual ever since we were married. I can’t really say I have any complaints about the bank, but I sure hate paying $7 every month for the “privilege” of storing my money there.

So, I opened up a new account at Wachovia. There aren’t any fees and their online bill pay actually works (WaMu’s has never worked, as far as I can remember). So now I have the fun task of transferring over everything to the new account. Direct deposit, auto-pays, etc. That will be a pain. But I think it’s worth $7 per month.
